April 1, 2021

KnoWEwell is pleased to welcome Amy Goldstein, director at Alliance to Advance Comprehensive Integrative Pain Management (AACIPM), as one of our health and well-being advisors.

We are delighted to include AACIPM among our network of mission-aligned partners who inspire and empower individuals to heal and achieve WELLthier Living. Meanwhile, KnoWEwell is honored to join AACIPM and we look forward to our proactive partnership. AACIPM announced that registration is open for the Integrative Pain Management Conference, on May 7th, presented by UVM Integrative Health and hosted by the University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Sciences. UVM Comprehensive Pain Program was created in partnership with BC/BS of Vermont and uniquely designed as an integrative and interprofessional program for caring for people with chronic pain.

In April we’ll focus on a number of National Health Awareness topics, kicking off on April 5th with National Public Health Awareness week. The American Public Health Association (APHA) has created an outstanding week of expert-led Well-inars exploring several holistic health approaches, such as Acupressure, Ayurveda, Movement, and more, as well as a Social Schedule that includes Q&A, Public Health intersections, and “A Place to Breathe” movie screening. Register Here.

KnoWEWell is spotlighting April’s National Minority Health Month with a special Insight article, “Dismantling Health Inequality,” which is a deep dive into the crisis of disparities in the healthcare system—and the steps being taken to address them.

To spotlight Stress Awareness Month, KnoWEwell will be hosting Christopher Willard, PsyD, of the Harvard Medical School, for an educational program on “Raising Resilience through Challenging Times.” Even as the pandemic winds down and we enter a “new normal,” how can we ensure that our communities emerge more resilient than ever? Join Dr. Willard as we explore the foundations of post-traumatic growth, looking to spirituality and neuroscience as we discover and explore mindfulness-based tools that have boosted human resilience in the face of adversity for generations. This workshop will include mindfulness and positive psychology practices, along with simple takeaway tips for yourself, your family, and your clients during the COVID-19 era. Register Here

We will also be hosting a month-long series for Autism Awareness Month. The first in the three-part series starts tomorrow, Friday, April 2nd, which is Autism Awareness Day. Jane Lynn Britton, who is KnoWEwell’s Director of People Experiences, a TV talk-show host, and the founder of Navigate Autism, will be in discussion with Susan Burdick, LMT, the founder of Restore for Life. Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, MD, FACOG, ABOIM and award-winning children’s book author of A Friend Like John, Understanding Autism, will be featured on April 16th, and autism nutritionist and the award-winning book author of Nourishing Hope for Autism, Julie Matthews, CNC, will wind up the series on April 27th. Register here and look for future communications on the upcoming series.
